Aigrette had 5 dogs in the top 25 Silkens competing in LGRA in 2013. I went to Talisman to bring Phoenix home, but Teddy and I connected and I went from zero to two Silkens in the blink of an eye. Teddy excels at field events and has amassed a trunk load of Silken Windhound firsts.
ISWS ANNUAL STANDINGS 2007 - 2013. On January 1, 2013, Silken Windhounds became a fully eligible breed with LGRA. Silken Windhounds must register with LGRA in order to participate in their race meets. The ISWS racing program, which began with straight racing in 2005, was modeled after the Large Gazehound Racing Association program following their rules. Siken Windhounds are now recognized by the United Kennel Club. The Silken Windhound fills a niche in the sighthound breeds with a smaller, long-haired hound. The Silken Windhound may bring to mind a small Borzoi, but Silken Windhounds are uniquely their own breed. Silken Windhounds are bred to an Official Standard that outlines the ideal dog.
