The overall goal of the program is to build a foundation for lifelong learning and achievement of the Common Core learning standards. A strong emphasis is placed on social and emotional development. Each child is encouraged to gain independence while adjusting to a regular school routine. The children interact with other grade levels and participate in school concerts and weekly Mass.

But just look what they can do when they stick together. The goal of AIS is for each child to become a stronger reader and writer. We also foster an environment that encourages children to become life. My focus is to support the regular classroom curriculum while meeting the individual needs of the students.

Have a happy summer! As our year in Kindergarten comes to an end, we have been working very hard finishing our last stories in Guided Reading Groups and Shared Reading. Our reading vocabulary is amazing-be sure to keep reading all summer for practice! We are learning about three dimensional shapes in Math, and where we see them in our world around us.
