Shivani was born in Calcutta, India. A city brimming with art, culture and above all energy. She currently lives in London and works in the City. Shivani sees no contradiction in having an artistic mind and being a part of the corporate world. She believes that if the artist in you is alive, the creativity of your perspective reflects in your work in any sphere. What will be the next theme in my works? She has also been involved with various charities and 10 percent of all the money she raises from showin.
To finish her Oil paintings, Shivani has imrovised from the classic varnish by introducing a top layer of resin on some works. The resin makes colours vivid and introduces the desire in the viewer to touch the paintings. The texture of the oil paint comes through the resin. Small balls of gold or silver are placed between sheets of tissue paper laid in a leather pouch. This is beaten repeatedly but carefully with a heavy wooden hammer flattening the balls into paper thin sheets. When semi dry, colours ar.
22nd Nov 2010 to 9th Jan 2011. Over Christmas, the RAC in Pall Mall is buzzing with energy. As part of the Christmas celebration, Ian Irvine curate an exhibition of 4 artists. Shivani donated a large part of the proceeds from the sale of works at the RAC to the Eve appeal.
Her transformation from a derivatives specialist to an artist of exceptional appeal is seamless.
In November 2009, Shivani participated in a group exhibition of Indian Artists at the Totteridge Village hall. On display were paintings with 5 distinct styles.
