As a precursor to the centenary of the WI in 2015 a WI Centenary Baton is being passed between every WI in the country, in June it made it to Nottinghamshire and having already travelled some distance around the county it arrived in the village of Ravenshead on Sunday 15th June 2014. We think Coco was an exceptional and inspiring woman. She was raised as an orphan, but became a world renowned fashion icon. We are still wearing her designs and perfume over a hundred years later. On a lovely spring day in Newark we sent one of our members to an exciting web site building course - a really new venture for Newark Palace WI. We all arrived at County House on the bridge where we set up our laptops and then did that really important task . Course at County House Newark.

Beading Day at County House. On a lovely sunny day in March two Ollerton ladies travelled to County House for a busy day of beading with an excellent tutor - Patty McCourt. Together with members from around the county the ladies had an enjoyable but hardworking day creating a beautiful beaded cuff bracelet. More photos now available in the gallery.

Groups, Notts Federation and National. WHEN DO WE MEET? Chilwell WI, like most others in Nottinghamshire, get together once a month for a meeting. We meet at the Christchurch Lounge on Lime Grove - click here. These monthly meetings take place on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. The meeting begins at 2pm but we start gathering a little earlier to make sure we are ready to kick off on time. The meeting lasts about 2 hours so we are usually on our way home by 4pm. WHAT DO WE DO? Come along to one of our mee.

The Wi exists to educate women, to enable them to provide an effective role in the community, to expand their horizons and to develop and pass on important skills. Visitors and new members are always welcome to join us at any time of the year.
